One outlet that often gets forgotten are specialist/niche social media and social news websites. Finding one that suits your specific area can be as valuable (or more) than a larger social media outlet when you’re less established. For me it’s Hacker News a website specific to tech programmers and entrepreneurs.

I myself am working on one right now it’s a new project called SavePop (https://savepop.link), an AI-moderated social news and link sharing site. It’s still in early development, but I’d love to get feedback on it.

Thanks for providing a useful guide, in what is a hugely complicated field.

I guess if you use it in the correct way all these places are really great to get the word out.

Especially youtube and pinterest as they are also search engines itself and get natural traffic from search terms.

For me, here is my list:

1) Youtube- if you are a video person this is a must!
2) Flickr- for fancier images and to reach an older audience. If you have pictures of your grandchildren or know that your contents relates nicely to the elder generation then this works best here.

3) Facebook – This is where most people live so it’s worth getting on there fast! Start collecting likes and friends today. Make sure you’re in their feed with fresh and relevant content. Youtube or Flickr would be good places to link back from too (add links about how great it is).

4) Pinterest – Great place for image heavy information like recipes & DIYs. It’s also another social
